If you’re a beginner seeking a simplified approach to learning Tai Chi basics, this Yang Style lineage program is designed for you. Tai Chi Fundamentals is designed to make Tai Chi accessible to people of all ages and abilities. 

 

This is an 8 week course and movement is taught in a simple-to-complex progression and can be modified to accommodate your needs. Begin by learning the program’s Basic Moves. They help prepare you for doing Tai Chi and benefit posture, coordination, centering and balance. We will use the Basic Moves to learn the form. The program includes instruction in the following:

  • Basic Moves: Series of exercises that serve as building blocks for training Tai Chi movement skills and energetics. The Basic Moves benefit posture, coordination and balance and help you become calmer and more focused.

  • Tai Chi Fundamentals Form: using the Basic Moves as your base, you will learn this simplified form

  • Mind/Body Skills Training: Fosters attention and focus, a calm and observant state of mind, awareness of posture and breathing, and physical relaxation.

 

CLASS DETAILS

 

1.Technology Needed

This class will be taught online using Zoom. I recommend joining from a computer or a laptop so you are able to see the screen and the movements. Some people may be able to connect a tablet or laptop to their TV for better viewing. I do not recommend joining on a cell phone. Classes will be recorded if you cannot make it to the live call. You will have access to the recordings using private YouTube links.

 

NOTE: after purchase you will receive an email from me with the private Zoom link to attend class. I ask that you do not share this link with anyone outside your household

 

If you have family members in your household that would like to attend, that is welcomed.

 

2. Dress & Home Set Up

You should dress in comfortable clothes; ones that are easy to move in. You can practice with shoes on or off, which ever you feel most stable in. Also keep in mind the floor in which you will be standing on - a thick carpet may be difficult to stand keep your balance. Please have a chair without arms available in case you need it for stability.

 

3. Dates & Time

This will be an 8 week course. You do not have to attend the live call, but you will get the most benefit if you can.
