I used to love milk growing up. Then in high school I became lactose intolerant. It was miserable! The gas, bloating, major abdominal pain (like I was getting stabbed!), hours in the bathroom and curled up in bed. Fast forward about 10 year later, I became pregnant with my first child and strangely, dairy didn't bother me anymore. Our bodies are amazing! I never went back to drinking a daily glass of milk, although I do still enjoy and consume dairy (I try to make sure it's organic and from grass fed cows when possible). So when I want to add something creamy to my coffee or tea I reach for a nut beverage ("milk").
The problem with these nut beverages is that they can be filled with preservatives, fillers, and sweeteners. All things that we don't need. So I started making my own. It's so easy!! I'm not kidding! It takes about 10 minutes at the most. And it tastes SO much better and you can flavor it how you want to.
